Professional Associations

Professional Associations have a unique role to play in promoting professional ethics. Through extensive collaboration with these Associations, Ethilogical Consulting has developed a package of services tailored to assist Professional Associations in their work:

Professional ethics for members

An Association’s Code of Ethics/Conduct is more than just a set of rules; applied correctly it is both the sword and shield for a profession, promoting excellence for client confidence while also protecting members from exploitation.

‘Wicked problems’ Masterclass

‘Wicked problems’ are those with complex and obscure causes and no good path towards resolution. We offer this half-day workshop for experienced professionals to equip them with the means of navigating these challenges with maximum benefit and minimum risk.

Resilience for early professionals

Entering a new field exposes professionals to a whole new world of cultural norms, workplace politics and unanticipated challenges. This half-day workshop minimises stress-induced turnover by equipping early professionals to handle a variety of challenges.

Culture diagnosis for people managers

Cultural norms ultimately determine how a team performs. This half-day workshop unpacking the concept of workplace culture, its contributing factors, how it interacts with power and ethics, and ways culture can be diagnosed and steered over time.

Power dynamics for people managers

Power dynamics must be actively managed to prevent ‘shadow values’ from emerging. This workshop introduces our theory of power dynamics to highlight how and why power affects good decision-making and how to manage them.

PhD: AI Ethics and Counter-Extremism

Entitled "The Ethical Limitation of Ideas: Countering Online Extremist Movements using AI", this PhD is a full-time research project with Deakin University's Tackling Hate Lab: tacklinghate.org

The intended research question is "Under what circumstances is it ethically justifiable to monitor or limit the circulation of extremist ideas on social media using AI generated text, as part of efforts to counter online hate and extremism?".
